Well, Cox Pavilion is shaping up as the place to be on Sunday during the opening salvo of the three national-caliber (anyone notice how often I write “-caliber” at the end of words?) high school hoops tournament that get underway that day.
The Adidas Super 64’s top teams will play in Cox (located next to Thomas & Mack), beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
And the Main Event Tournament (run by Hal Pastner of Vision Sports, not Nike as is often reported) will have some of its best teams in Cox from 8 a.m. until the adidas games get underway.
Some Main Event teams to check out Sunday: The P Miller Traveling Team (better know as Percy Miller and better know than that as “Master P”), featuring Demar DeRozan of Compton and Miller’s son, point guard Percy Miller Jr. (better known as “Lil Romeo”) of Beverly Hills, takes on the Houston Blazers in a pool play game at 10:10 a.m.; and, also in Gym 1 (main floor) in Cox, the top-seeded New York Gauchos (great guards on that club) play the Fonde Prep All-Stars from Houston at 11:15.
And I’m going to be blogging like crazy all week . . . blah, blah, blah. You’ve read that two times already.
It’s going to be a looooooooooooooong week, boys and girls.
