Dons down at halftime

Sophomore Trevor Romaine banged in a 37-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to give the host Centennial Huskies a 10-7 advantage over the Dominguez Dons Friday night.

This was a tough first half to figure out, as both teams could have scored at least a couple of touchdowns.

The Dons got their impressive running game going late in the first quarter and probably should have been up at least 14-7 at intermission if not for a couple of interception of passes thrown by newcomer Marcus Miller.

Oh, yes . . . just another remind: It's hot. Even at 8:40 p.m., it's got to be in the mid-80s. And it's a dry-as-heck-heat as well.
