That was impressive

The fifth-ranked team in California dominated No. 8 over the final 24 minutes and came away with a impressive victory on an oppressively hot Corona Friday evening.

Are the Centennial (the Corona variety) Huskies the fifth-best team in California, as they are ranked by CalHiSports?

That remains to be seen but they looked the part of it in the second half while breaking open what once was a competitive contest and smacking the Dominguez Dons, 38-17.

Centennial, which also faces tough games in September against Mater Dei and Clovis West, got 213 yards rushing from Ryan Bass and could find itself in contention for a berth in the State Div. I title game in December.

As for me, I could use a monster-sized pitcher of ice water to guzzle --- or pour over the top of my head --- about right now.

But I've got a story to write!
