Sorry this wasn't posted sooner but I fell asleep at the dining room table when I got home Friday night from the Poly-Newport Harbor game.

Anyway, thoughts on a few of the area football games from last (Friday) night:

*Los Alamitos had 400-plus yards in offense and only beat Dana Hills 13-10? There must have beent urnover/penalty issues.

*Jordan and Millikan (which had a bye this week) are both 2-0. When is the last time that was the case?

*Lakewood pounded Mayfair 40-3: Wow! Not to denegrate the Lancers' effort but the Monsoons must be DOWN.

*St. John Bosco is 2-0 after cruising past Cabrillo, 35-0: Runnin back Lawrence Doss -- he's very good -- is scheduled for an MRI on Monday. The Braves' coaches and fans better keep their collective fingers crossed.

*Compton drilled Hawthorne, 54-0: The Tarbabes have now outscored three opponents, 183-13. L.A. Fremont is next up and the Tarbabes should go for 40-plus points in that one as well -- not that it will really give us any idea as to how good Compton is.
