Jordan Hamilton helped cap a nice day of play for the Dominguez High basketball program Sunday at Lynwood High, scoring 34 points as his team (called "The Hood") knocked off a San Fernando-based group of post-high school players, 88-82, in the title game of the Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Classic.

Hamilton & Co., which beat traveling teams Empire (players from the Inland Empire area) and California Supreme (led by sophomores Jeremy Tyler of San Diego High and Gary Franklin of Mater Dei High) in the quarterfinals and semifinals earlier Sunday, now have to be given serious consideration to be rated the No. 1 team in Southern California going into the upcoming season.

An "unofficial" all-tourneament team: Hamilton (MVP). Aaron Moore, Thurman Woods and Bryce Cartwright (The Hood/Dominguez High), Demar DeRozan (Belmont Shore/Compton HIgh), Tyler (California Supreme/San Diego High), Franklin (California Supreme/San Diego High), Robert Smith (FBC Perris/Perris High), Abdul Gaddy (Branch West Reebok/Tacoma Belarmine Prep), Nigel Ajere (Stoneridge Prep/Pasadena High grad), Kyle Barone (Stoneridge Prep/Pacifica High graduate), Renaldo Woolrdige (Belmont Shore/Harvard-Westlake High).
