Oh, those Bruins and Trojans!

Tonight is not a good night to be Karl Dorrell. And, for the most part, the USC Trojans certainly looked the part of the best football team in the country tonight in Lincoln, Nebraska.

UCLA's 44-6 loss at the University of Utah -- which was winless going into the game in Salt Lake City -- was as inexcusable as it was shocking.

The Bruins were No. 11 in last week's ratings but figure to slip to near the bottom, if not all the way out, of the AP top 25 when it is released Sunday.

And what about the Trojans 49-31 victory (the game wasn't nearly as close as the final margin; Nebraska scored a couple of late TDs against reserves)?

It will be interesting to see how many of those 17 AP voters who switched from USC to LSU after the Tigers handled Virginia Tech on Sept. 8 (when the Trojans had a bye) will do another flip-flop Sunday.
