Sorry about that, folks

I wasn't able to blog from Veterans Stadium because of some technical difficulties with the blogging mechanism that we use for the Press-Telegram. Hey! I think that may be the first time I've ever used the word "mechanism" in the contest of sports writering/reporting/blogging!

Anyway, it seems to be up and running now (Friday morning) and I'll pound out a few thoughts on the Los Alamitos-Wilson football game ... won by the Griffins, 42-20, in case you were there or haven't read my game story in the Press-Telegram print or on-line editions:

*Junior Clark Evans may not be the best quarterback (at least, not yet) in Southern California but it's hard to imagine anyone combining his passing AND running ability.

*He's got a solid offensive line and a litany of skilled players (mostly underclassmen, including sophomores Paul Richardson and Brandon Graves, and junior Darryl Jenkins) to get the ball to.

*Wilson's defense was all but helpless to slow down Evans & Co. But the Bruins' offense has a lot of explosive players, including quarterback senior quarterback Zack Kazarian, junior wide receiver/return specialist Jemari Roberts, senior running back Randall Hook and sophomore wide receiver Ezell Ruffin.

Both teams have biggies on tap next Friday night, with the Griffins facing 4-0 Orange Lutheran at Cal State Fullerton and the Bruins playing host to Millikan in a Moore League opener
