OK . . . why not?

Let me tip-toe out onto the limb about some of Friday night's high school football games . . .

Millikan at Lakewood: The Rams couldn't capitalize often enough on five Poly turnovers a week ago and couldn't slow down the Jackrabbits' running attack when Raul Lara's team hung onto the ball. The Lancers have a better (or, at least, certainly more well-balanced) offense than does Poly. This could be relatively high scoring, with the hosts doing more of it.
Lancers 31, Millikan 17

Poly at Wilson: The Jackrabbits should cruise in this one, enabling them to establish a state record (I believe) for consecutive victories, at 70. I'll check with the Cal-Hi Sports folks Friday just to be certain.
Jackrabbits 35, Wilson 14

Orange Lutheran vs. Servite at Cal State Fullerton: These are potential Pac-5 Division finalists in December. I'll give an ever-so-slight edge to the school with Orange in its name
Lancers 24, Friars 17

Newport Harbor vs. Esperanza at Valencia High: No one is quite certain what to make of Esperanza, one of just four unbeatens (with Mater Dei, Comption and Orange Lutheran) in the Pac-5 Division. Poly was able to crunch the Sailors up from with its running attack in September and I'll go on the assumption that Esperanza will do the same thing.
Aztecs 27, Sailors 20
