No surprises in the Moore League and, hey! Where is that Dominguez-Downey score, folks?
*Poly High's running attack is potent and its passing attack (albeit, minus exceptional numbers) looked improved, courtesy the right arm of junior quarterback Morgan Fennell, duirng the Jackrabbits' 45-6 win over Wilson, which dropped its seventh consecutive decision.
If you can stir up the action, take Poly in its game at Compton on Nov. 2.
*Compton, according to the highlight I read on the PT website, rolled up a lot of total yards but still was able to beat compton just 26-6.
How good are the 7-0 Tarbabes? We'll have a better clue, after consecutive games against the toughest three Moore League opponents it will face: Millikan (road/next Friday), Poly (home/Nov. 2) and Lakewood (road/Nov. 9).
*Lakewood 40, Millikan 17: Apparently the Rams were leading into the fourth quarter than devasted themselves with turnovers.
Other scores of note: Servite 28, Orange Lutheran 13 (wow . . . D.J. Shoemake is the man), Mater Dei 34, Santa Margarita 6 (not totally unexpected) and St. John Bosco 61, JSerra 21 (ugly team, JSerra is; that is my Yoda impression).
OK, on my way to slumbersville . . . Wait! Carson 18, San Pedro 16 . . . big game for the Colts, who face Banning on Nov. 8. They beat San Pedro (something like), 18-16. Mike Christensen's team is getting better week, to week. Showdown with Banning, at Vets: Nov. 8.
