As I anticipated, Newport Harbor (6-4), which played in three-way tie for second in the Sunset League but lost a Friday night coin flip, got the one at-large bid to the CIF Southern Section Pac-5 football playoffs that get under way on Friday night.

Lynwood (5-5) of the San Gabriel Valley League was an at-large candidate in the Western Division but it went to Chaminade (6-4) of the Mission League.

The Pac-5 pairings will be unveiled at about 11 a.m.

Check my earlier blogs for my projections and let's see how close I came.
