Prep guard commits to Long Beach

Michael Caffey, a 5-foot-11 point guard who will be a senior at Centennial High in Corona, committed to the Long Beach State basketball program Sunday night.

Caffey averaged 12.6 points and 7.3 assists per game as a junior for the Huskies, who finished 25-5 after a loss to Etiwanda in the quarterfinals CIF Southern Section IAA playoffs.

High school and community college players can't sign binding national letters of intent until November.
