Marqus Blakely, a 6-foot-5 undrafted rookie from the University of Vermont, has been waived by the Clippers, the club announced this afternoon.

The move leaves the current roster at 14 -- which is what it will likely be at when the team opens the season Wednesday night against Portland in the Staples Center.

One of those 14 will apparently be veteran free-agent center/power forward Jarron Collins, a Harvard-Westlake graduate who played eight years for Utah and last season with Phoenix.

Collins just told reporters that he was told by Neil Olshey (the team's Vice President of Basketball Operations) ``to be ready Wednesday night."
