University of Hawaii to Big West?

The Honolulu Star-Adviser is reporting that the University of Hawaii -- currently a member in the Western Athletic Conference for all sports -- has been invited (and, apparently, will accepted) to join the Mountain West Conference for football only.

According to the report, the school's other teams would compete in the Big West Conference.

The move for the non-football programs to the Big West has been seen a real possibility -- if not a downright likelihood -- for several months.

The school has scheduled a press conference for 7 o'clock Hawaii Time (and 10 Pacific Time) tonight to discuss the news.
