Ike Diogu, an All-America and Pac-10 Player of the Year when he played at Arizona State, has signed with the Clippers, the club announced today. He will be in uniform for tonight's game with Houston in the Staples Center.

The No. 9 selection (by Golden State) in the 2005 draft, Diogu -- listed at 6-foot-9 but he appears shorter by as much as two inches -- played three preseason games with Detroit before being waived on Oct. 20.

He missed all of last season for a knee injury that required microfracture surgery to treat.

Terms of his signing were not revealed but it's believed he signed a non-guaranteed contract for a team in need of up-front depth with Chris Kaman, Brian Cook and Craig Smith sidelined indefinitely.
