Celebrate America with a fireworks show and/or Independence Day festivities near you from July 2 to 4. Here are links to some of the happenings in the San Gabriel Valley. Te Los Angeles Fire Department has also compiled a list of other shows in the Los Angeles County.
JULY 2

  • Arcadia
    On First Avenue, between Huntington Drive and Duarte Road.
    Arcadia's Best Patriotic Festival: Parade starts at 10 a.m.
  • Sierra Madre
    Sierra Vista Park, 611 E. Sierra Madre Blvd.
    Community picnic from 3 to 8 p.m.

JULY 3

  • West Covina
    Edgewood Middle School, 1625 W. Durness St.
    Carnival from 4 to 10 p.m.
  • La Mirada
    Fireworks: 
La Mirada High School (Soccer Field)
, 13520 Adelfa Ave. Starts after dark.
    Entertainment and picnic: La Mirada Regional Park, Alicante Road and Adelfa Drive. From 4 to 9:30 p.m. (fireworks can be viewed here)
  • La Puente
    La Puente Park
, 501 N. Glendora Ave.

    Carnival from 5 to 9 p.m., followed by fireworks (9 p.m.)
  • Sierra Madre
    Memorial Park, 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.
    Parade at 10 a.m. Bubblewrap Fireworks and more at 5 to 10 p.m.
  • South El Monte
    Entertainment and actvities: New Temple Park, 1450 Lidcombe Ave. From 1:30 to 7:30 p.m.
    Fireworks: South El Monte High School, 1001 N. Durfee Ave. Starts at 9 p.m.

JULY 4

  • Alhambra
    Almansor Park, 800 S. Almansor St.
    Celebration starts at 3 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

  • Baldwin Park
    Sierra Vista High School, 600 Frazier Ave.
    Celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m. (takes place at field behind bleachers)
  • West Covina*

  • Diamond Bar

    Diamond Bar High School (Baseball Field

    Glendora Village, Foothill Boulevard and Bennett Avenue.
    Glendora Village Independence Day Jubilee. Parade starts at 9 a.m. Free concerts at 10:45 a.m.
  • Hacienda Heights
    On Stimson Avenue, from Colima Road to Steinmetz Park.
    Parade starts at 9 a.m.
  • La Habra*
    La Habra High School (Baseball Field)

    Celebration starts at 5 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.

    Country Fair: Roynon Elementary School, 2715 E Street. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Parade: La Verne's old town. Pre-parade Harley ride at 9:45 a.m. Parade at 10 a.m.
    Fireworks: Bonita High School (Stadium), 3102 D Street. Entertainment and fireworks from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Monrovia
    Library Park, 321 S. Myrtle Ave.
    Concert at 7 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Monterey Park
    Barnes Park, 350 McPherrin Ave.
    Celebration from 3 to 9 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Pasadena - Americafest 2011*
    Rose Bowl, 1001 Rose Bowl Dr.
    Festival outside stadium starts at 2 p.m. Gates open for stadium at 6 p.m. Fireworks at 9:05 p.m.
  • Pico Rivera
    Smith Park, 6016 Rosemead Blvd.
    Entertainment and carnival start at 4 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Rosemead
    Rosemead Park, 9200 Mission Ave.
    Parade at 10 a.m. Carnival starts at noon. Opening ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Santa Fe Springs
    Los Nietos Park, 11143 Charlesworth Road.
    Fireworks at 9 a.m. sharp.
  • San Gabriel
    Historic Mission District
    Kids Day and Independence Parade starts at 10 a.m.
  • San Marino
    Lacy Park, 1485 Virginia Road. Parade at 5 p.m. Entertainment from 5:30 to 9 pm., followed by fireworks show (9 p.m.)
  • Sierra Madre
    Kersting Court, corner of Baldwin Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard.
    5k Firecracker Fun Run: Check in starts at 6 a.m. Race at 7 a.m.
  • Whittier
    Palm Park, 5703 Palm Ave.
    Flag raising ceremony and freedom walk along Greenway Trail starts at 8 a.m.
*Note: Some of the local events charge a small entry fee to their celebration. For these locations, however, viewing the fireworks show nearby doesn't cost a dime.
