Arnold for Veep?

Our colleagues at The Sausage Factory call to our attention a Time Magazine story "about new BFFs Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg." According to the article, billionaire Warren Buffett dreams about the two forming a presidential campaign ticket:

Buffett thinks it's a great idea, and when he first heard it, he turned to the Constitution. "I wanted to see if Schwarzenegger could be his Vice President," Buffett said. "I think he could." It states that the President must be native born, but it's silent on the Vice President.

Buffett may be a financial genius, and he makes more each day than I've made in my life, but he (and Time) got it wrong on the Constitution. See the last sentence of Amendment XII:

... no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

If Arnold wants a role in the White House, it will have to be at the Cabinet level, a la Henry Kissinger.

Arnold is too self-absorbed to get out of his Hummers long enough to lobby his Republican buds in D. C. for our share of money for mass transit. The LAT published a report couple days ago, confirming what we know daily: L. A. has 2 of 5 most clogged freeways in the country, but we lost out on any share of billions in mass transit funds just last week: allegedly cuz local politos won't propose toll roads. Maybe they should, but that is also the East Coast "establishment" telling the "Left Coast loonies" how to micromanage affairs; if Arnold has so much nat'l respect, why can't he step in and craft something, put people together across political parties, Coasts?
-- Arnold, you're leaving the locals to drown in traffic and the ire of their constituents; CD5/Weiss has these 2 worst freeways in his district, and Rosendahl isn't far behind. But they need YOU to "show us the money." (Rosendahl lashed out at you for this in a recent City Council meeting Arnold; are you listening?) Arnold seems to have been silent on the VA sale, too.
-- Talk about people who want to run for higher ofc. by just leaving behind the serious local problems they can't use in photo-ops.
