Mirthala: Sleeping her way to the top?

Villaraigosa, Fabian Nunez, Alex Padilla. Telemundo's Mirthala Salinas was clearly moving up in the chain of political power.

I must say that I'm much less concerned about the indiscretion of the mayor than I am about Salinas. Everyone knows that politicians are screwing people in private and in public. It's why we absolutely need a free press to keep them in check. Otherwise, hello dictatorship.

That's what makes Salinas' role much more troublesome. When reporters transgress that main tenet of journalistic standards (don't get personally involved with those you cover) then we are all lost.

But, then, we can hardly count TV anchors as journalists these days, can we?

since i was not present at Libby's legal wranglings, I cannot say whether he belongs in prison or not. But the writer's scathing rebuke of Bush's action seem to imply that William Jefferson Clinton did not pardon 146(?) criminals that were behind bars at the time of their pardons. i am certain that i would pardon my friend and i am equally certain that the writer would pardon his friend. if the writer is over ten years old, he should already have overcome the idea that politics is pure. Get real, pal.
