On Antonio and Straw Men

Kevin Roderick, editor of LAObserved, says my initial comment about Villaraigosa's adultery "plays a very weak straw man." Here's the whole quote:

Weinkopf's post also plays a very weak straw man card and pretends that some unnamed PC forces want to shut him up — all so he can boast that "I am not afraid" to call Antonio a cheater and Mirthala a homewrecker.

Who said anything about anyone wanting to shut me up? No one has made any such threat, and I certainly never meant to suggest that they had. My point was only that PC sensibilities preclude most of polite society from speaking about such matters plainly (Roderick's shocked post is a case in point), and I wasn't going to give in to those sensibilities.

Talk about straw men!
