500 & The Clicks Keep on Coming

| | Comments (0) |

Just shy of Friendly Fire's two-month anniversary, I'm happy to post this, the 500th entry to our blog. In this short time, we have had rapid growth, ascending from complete obscurity to, well, near-complete obscurity!

Actually, it's been a great start. We now consistently rank among the top 30-35 page views among all Daily News-related pages each day. And we've played a big role in the life of the city and the paper, on issues ranging from the Villaraigosa-Salinas mayoral affair to the Archdiocesan sex-abuse scandal to our readers' revolt against the DN's (briefly) reduced comics page.

Special thanks to our intrepid crew of bloggers who have kept FF up and running -- Bridget, Earl, Jonathan, Mariel, Mike, and Patrick. And an extra-special thanks to all our commenters who have kept things so lively, especially Michele, Greg, Dante, Timmy, Jill, even Susan. For the most part, we've been able to keep things contentious but cordial, the delicate balance we have sought from the very beginning.

It's been a fun ride. I can't wait to see where the next 500 posts will take us!
