Antonio is all about keeping families together -- just not his own

"When families are torn apart, our communities are torn apart," Villaraigosa said about the deportation of Elvira Arellano from Los Angeles.

Does that mean L.A. is torn apart?

Mayor Villaraigosa's people really should be vetting his public comments for hypocrisies such as this -- at least until people forget that he once had a wife and some cute kids before he ran off with the anchorwoman.

Dearest Latino Councilmembers:

Which Latino Mayor uttered these words with respect to an illegal alien who was deported for violating US immigration laws: “When families are torn apart, communities are torn apart”?

Weren’t these words uttered by the same person whose actions “tore apart” his own family??

This carries the same “moral authority” as Cardinal Roger Mahoney stating that we should continue to support the church even though it has decided not to punish pedophile priests because they had “good intentions” when they began their ministry.

Let’s be clear with respect to matters of the law, fellow Latinos. Good intentions do not supersede good laws. The law needs to punish lawbreakers for breaking laws, whether you happen to believe that those laws are favorable to your “people” or not.

Our immigration laws are not at fault for “tearing families apart.” If they were followed rigorously, our community would not be suffering with abysmally poor public schools, record budget deficits that require increasing financial burdens (taxation) to be carried by the middle class, and a sense that this once great city is being destroyed by our own elected leaders.

Latino leaders should be distinguished for their desire to uphold US laws (and holy vows), not for their passion in seeing them broken, disregarded and ignored.

If you feel otherwise, this represents a betrayal of your cultural heritage as well as your privileged status as an American.

Regards,

Tony

This morning I submitted a
recommendation to the Mayor
that he revoke the special
tax allowance for the many
churches who are acting as
"sanctuaries" in So' Cal.
These entities are in clear
violation of the laws of
ICE. They should be held
accountable for their vio-
lations. The horrendous cost
to the honest tax-payers for
the support of illegal
immigrants must be addressed
by our elected officials.

Dear Kenneth,

I appreciate your efforts and your proposal is a sound one. Regrettably, our Mayor is not the person to carry out this initiative because he favors Mexicans over (and against) US citizens. He delivers speches in Spanish, he leads marches on their behalf (and opposes US immigration laws), and he clearly favors Mexican mistresses in bed as well!! He wants to keep the borders open and the supply of Mexican Mamacitas flowing!

But we should all fight to oppose him and what he represents.
