Cringe-Worthy Irony
Perhaps the funniest headline of the week is “State Department cringes as presidential hopefuls muddy diplomatic waters.” How could the waters be any muddier? How could the mumbling overly spun and focus group tested campaign nonsense spouted by presidential aspirants make America’s position in the world any worse than it is? We are living and dying in a world of flaming sticks and exploding stones and the State Department is worked up over the words?
These are the same people who either work for the gang that got us into this mess or they created the mess themselves. Either way, they have very little standing to cringe at anything anyone else says about our once or future diplomatic or military policies. Never mind if they have no sense of decency. Have they no sense of irony?
