If fat is a virus, I got the cure
Guess there is something to that old saw "starve a cold, feed a fever."
Yeah, scientists say there is evidence that the cold virus can cause fatness. (Or is it that with our sinus blocked we lose our sense of taste and try to compensate by shoving more and more in? Could be worth a study)
I can't help but be skeptical of this. I've no doubt the researchers chonicled their evidence correctly, I'm just not sure they came to the true conclusion yet. Science isn't always an exact science.
Anyhow, it doesn't really matter because there already is a cure. And it's super cheap:
''The cause for obesity in everyone is the same,'' said Dr. Samuel Klein, director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. ''You eat more calories than you burn up; You can't get away from that basic law of physics.''

Guess the old adage, feed a cold, starve a fever, isn't all correct. The idea was to make sure you keep up your strength, to fight the cold. Maybe people feel a license to eat, and just don't stop, kind of like when women are pregnant and they're "eating for two."

Oh, I love these studies - just confirming the obvious. How long and how many dollars did it take for the scientists to conclude - uh, basically, if you take in more calories than you burn - you gain weight.
Next, scientists will report back to us that due to the sun's appearance during the daytime the sky is brighter than it is at night.
Yes, I love these studies. I nearly spit my coffee out every month or so when reading the morning paper and I'll come across another schizo coffee study - "Coffee has health benefits." And then the next month or so, "Coffee may not be healthy after all..."
