Jonathan's Fellow Masochists

| | Comments (0) |

Yesterday FF's Jonathan Dobrer wrote about how, as a Dodger fan and Giant-hater, he'd still like to see Barry Bonds break the home-run record at Chavez Ravine. And in today's Daily News, Paul Oberjuerge reports, Jonathan is not alone.

For a night, many Dodgers fans ... were Barry Bonds fans.

Those sitting, at least, where a potential record-tying or record-breaking home run might land. Fans who seemed resigned to the controversial Giants outfielder breaking Henry Aaron's career home run record of 755, anyway.

"If he's going to set the record, he might as well do it while I'm here, and it might as well land in my glove," said Ed Altamirano, 37, of Rialto, who was sitting in Row F off Aisle 306 in the right-field pavilion.

Like seemingly half the fans around him, he wore a baseball glove.

"If I'm here, I might as well see history," said Tony Casarez, 50, of Long Beach, who was sitting in field-level seats in Section 52, Row D. And also was wearing a glove.
