Reggie's debut

Reggie the alligator debuted to the public today, and I was there. In front of a large crowd of journalists, city staffers, news cameras, kids in alligator face paint and adults with Reggie t-shirts, hats and other alligator memorabilia, all chanting "we want Reggie," the Lake Machado squatter was made a respectable animal with a safe place in the zoo. Hope he hadn't gotten too attached to the scum from empty Doritos bags.

reggieshirt.jpg I had to squat down, peer between two small kids for a glimpse of the handlers unwrapping a white towel from his maw, pull off blue duct tape sealing his bitey jaws and giving him a shove on the rump. With that, Reggie sauntered to the faux lagoon, slid in and instantly submerged.

Oh, well. Least I finally got to see the guy in the flesh after two years of writing about him. And, now that Reggie's got a permanent home at the zoo in an enclosure by himself, I can visit him any time I want (assuming the zoo is open). Meanwhile, I've got my gray Reggie shirt to remember the day.

I'm late, but thanks for re-turning the old comics; however, why have 'F-Minus' and 'Bizarro' which are both so inane. Also, you have not returned the word search, which I enjoyed so much nor Find Six Differences also enjoyed.

All that hoopla about a friggin' alligator who was dumped by its owner and if you give it a chance would be glad to chomp off your leg, or your arm or all of you. And those hats, T-shirts and memorabilia, all made in China, I am sure, and sold here to empty-headed people whose empty lives must be filled with the presence of a alligator! I remember reading about an American tourist swimming off a boat on the Northen coast of Australia. The woman was attacked by a "Grey," that's what the native call those enormous beasts, and she went under, never to be seen again. That's a very nice pet to have in the family.
