Celeb Justice: The Oxymoron

| | Comments (0) |

spector.jpgIs celebrity justice an oxymoron? You’ve certainly got to wonder when the Phil Spector jury hangs itself instead of him. Reports just came in the they are hung at 7-5, and frankly it doesn’t make much difference whether 7 or 5 people thought that she accidentally shot herself or committed suicide impulsively in a strange house, in high heels and with her bag on her shoulder. That any number of jurors greater than 1 thought that an innocent witness’ first reaction to a woman shooting herself (and by the testimony of his own expert witnesses) living beyond a few seconds, was to call his chauffer not 911, is simply amazing.

If he gets off on this, and he does get off strangely, it won’t be because he’s just another pretty face, an attractive Hollywood celeb. He lacks the charisma of the young OJ and the piquant charm of Robert Blake. No, if he slips this, it will be because he is loaded, and this time I mean with money. Justice may be blind, should be deaf but seems to be swayed by dough.
