Rudy is living in his own private Idaho

The one where he is world famous and everyone loves him and the streets are made of chocolate.

Yesterday, Giuliani, on his presidential campaign stop in Britain (has anyone told him that Brits can't vote in the U.S. presidential elections?), told reporters that he is " probably one of the four or five best known Americans in the world." Uh huh? Rudy really needs to get out in the world more, to where he isn't surrounded by yes men telling him how famous he is. Then he would know that he's probably not even in the top 50.

Just off the top of my head, I can think of 5 Americans vastly more world-famous the former (very former, like six years ago) mayor of that other city, New Whatever. Let's see, there's Arnold, O.J. Madonna, Oprah and Elvis (who are so famous they only need a first name and don't even need to be alive). We should also count President Bush, since he's traveling all over the world hugging all the peoples he sees, whether they want to be hugged or not. Then of course there's Bill Gates and Homer Simpson (animated, but still technically an American), Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and a whole bunch of movie stars. Heck. I think Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's probably got more wold-famousness than Rudy.

Still, of all the presidential candidates, Rudy is certainly providing the blogosphere with lots to snicker about, so he deserves big kudos for that.
