Joe Lieberman is one of the few U.S. politicos who really gets it on Iran -- and isn't assessing the danger quotient based on just the ramblings of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but on the mullahs who pull Mahmoud's strings. Plus, he had the guts to stand by his conscience on the Iraq war, even though it meant getting the shaft from his Democratic Party in the senatorial primary. He ran as an independent, and had the last laugh. Perhaps now he should run as an indy for president.
Because though a GOP humbling may be interesting to watch, the consequences of appeasement foreign policy could be disastrous.
