The Race Card

McCain's advisers accuse Obama of "playing the race card" when he points out that Republicans are subtly playing the race card.

I think the accusation goes like this: "Barack HUSSEIN Obama is playing the race card by daring to suggest that we would focus on how he's not really like you and me. Can Mr. Hussein, I mean, Mr. Osama, I mean, Mr. Obama, get any lower? Can he get any less like you and me...?"

It seems that Obama is playing the race card by claiming he is African American. He is an American, but obviously not proud of being just that. He is American because he was born here. Most of us have a background from another country. Would that make me Hungarian American because my father came from Hungary, or my daughters Italian American because their father came from Italy. Lets not forget the Irish American, French American, etc.etc.etc; we could go on and on. We are lucky to be born in this country, and should be proud enough to state so. It is important that our heritage remain with us, but to continually play it shows that Barak must feel the same way his wife does when she stated "I'm finally proud to be an American" for politics sake.
