Flag Abuse or Political Porn?

| | Comments (3) |

sarahpbik.jpegWell, as warned, the media hounds are hounding. Files are being searched, DNA samples sought, stories written and rumors checked out.

Political pornography is being made--and like sausage, it's not pretty.* However, as Earl forecast, the troops are fired up--on both sides. As I forecast, Sarah Palin had no idea what she was letting herself and her family in for. Not fair? Of course not. But neither are age or gravity.

*This picture is probably altered, with her head imposed on someone else's body. The point remains: This is sausage making, and it is indeed ugly stuff to which she has submitted herself and her family.

Flag abuse? Perhaps, yes or no, depends on the importance you place on two pieces of cloth. Child abuse? Yes. There was a time when parents could not know if the incoming child was defective or not and they had two choices. Keep the child or give it to some institutions. That was then. Know they know. And to allow a defective child to be born and condemn to a life of misery is child abuse. No more, no less. There is an italian film made in 2004 and presented to the Academy of Motion Picture for Foreign Academy consideration. The film is "The Keyes of the house." The film was rejected and I suspect that the subject matter presented in the film was (for some viewers) too painful to be acepted. The film deals with the pains and problems of handicapped children and the pains and problem of parents of these children. Is in Italian and German, with English subtitles. Take a look at this film, you may learn something.

It is kind of sad to see the republican party so desperate to have something to be excited about that they decided to become excited about Sarah Palin. Her two years experience as governor is flashed around as evidence of her experience, but I don't hear anyone mentioning that the Alaska legislature is only in session 60 days per year. But she was a mayor of a small town too, wasn't she? Why isn't anyone mentioning the fact that that little town had to hire a city manager during her tenure so things would get done?

And as for that photo being doctored, I'm not so sure. Don't we all get into bathing attire, go poolside and shoot garden gnomes this time of year?
