Hillary, Hillary, Hillary

Hillary, Hilliary, Hilliary. Aye, what were ye thinking, lass? Do ye, the State Department and Obeema really think that giving the Palestinians a state is going to help bring peace and harmony to the area?

Because if ye do, then I there's a Bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell ye. And remember, they've been offered their own state already and they turned it down, turned it down cold, so it isn't going to work again this time around, either. Besides, what would they possibly do with the land?

Gail-Tz -- have you run the #s on how long it'd take for Arabs to outnumber Israelis within the overall Israel/occupied area? Would you prefer to be like a white person in South Africa circa 1985, or to help create a workable long-term solution?

"They" turned it down because there were some problems with the proposal. They, the Arafat crowd, were foolish not to come back to the table. Many of "them" are willing to do better now, but you seem more intent on playing against their fanatics than on engaging with their moderates.

What's the long-term solution, though? How long can Israel stay stable, when many of its indigenous kids leave for the West while Arabs breed at far greater numbers...? Do you really believe Obama and Hillary are naive? Some would suggest they're being realistic but that you're not....

I know that they have the highest fecundity rate in the world, Rob. But unless they start to practive a good neighbor policy meaning no rockets, stabbings or attacks, then they shouldn't have their own state. Would you want to live near people who behaved like that?

Rob Asghar Author Profile Page said:

Gail-Tz: If you "wouldn't want to live NEAR people who behaved like that," why would you want live WITH people who behaved like that? Why would you want to become outnumbered by them within 30 years?

Seems that Israel should be slower to bulldoze the homes of innocents, which only spurs the Hydra effect -- and quicker to find ways to foster more economic opportunity for these people, so that they have more reason to believe in constructive rather than destructive pursuits.

But if that's too touchy-feely, then my question again is: Would you prefer to live near them or as a minority among them?

Gail-Tzipporah Saunders Author Profile Page said:

Rob, Israel bulldozing the homes of "innocents" is is totally untrue. They only target the homes of terrorists. What sense would there be in doing otherwise? I think there's another solution to your question? A homeland? Maybe. Where is the question. I always wondered why their Arab brethren, who live among the richest nations on earth, haven't done much to help them.

Rob Asghar Author Profile Page said:

Gail-Tz, there are many objective 3rd party sources that contend that they are quite sloppy in their targeting of terrorists' homes.

You make a fine point that the Arabs could have done more to help the Palestinians. But again, the issue is, What is Israel willing to do to defuse its own demographic time bomb? In that sense, Hillary (long trusted by friends of Israel), is being more of a friend to Israel than Netanyahu is.

Gail-Tzipporah Saunders Author Profile Page said:

Gosh Rob, who do you think the terrorists target?

Rob Asghar Author Profile Page said:

I'm not sure what you mean. But could you answer my question about what you feel Israel should do to defuse the demographic time bomb?

The whole middle east thing makes my head hurt. I'm still trying to figure out why it took this god of theirs forty years to lead them across a small desert to the only spot in the whole region where you can't push a stick in the ground without hitting oil. Youda thunk this god creature woulda knowed it was there.

Lol, I've been there, and I never did see all the milk and honey flowing like the bible promised. I do wish the Arabs and Israelis would fight over land that's really worth fighting over, like the Bahamas.

Gail-Tzipporah Saunders Author Profile Page said:

I'd hate to admit it, Rob, but the Bahama's comment is pretty funny.

Gail-Tzipporah Saunders Author Profile Page said:

That's an interesting question, David. The reason it took forty years is so that a new generation would be born and raised to wipe out the slave mentality from the previous one. Golda Meir once said, "If you think the Jews are so smart, then how come we picked the only place in the Middle East without any oil?"

David Long Author Profile Page said:

Gail - Somehow quoting a fairy-tale as your answer, doesn't satisfy the question until you produce this god creature and prove that its nature is as you claim.

Gail-Tzipporah Saunders Author Profile Page said:

David, that's the explanation the Rabbis give as it doesn't take forty years to walk from Egypt to Israel, I think. The G-d creature? That's a matter of faith.

David Long Author Profile Page said:

Gail - And as we all know, faith is the excuse to believe that which we know can't possibly be true, is somehow true. Faith is the excuse for ignorance.

Rob Asghar Author Profile Page said:

I don't know if faith is an excuse for ignorance, but it's indeed a good reason to beat up other people who dare offer different twists on the G-d thing.

Until PROVEN otherwise, god is the end result of a failed search for truth by a very shallow mind, provided any search was made at all instead of just swallowing the pap spoon-fed to you as a child.
