Five reasons to vote today
1. You never know who you will meet in that long line.
Bars are so over. For single people, there is no better place to find socially responsible and somewhat intelligent mates than at the polling place. Luckily, thanks to Los Angeles' never-ending election cylce that gives you three chances each year.
2. It gives you a legitimate reason to be late to work.
Can you imagine the jury award you would get in a wrongful termination lawsuit? Ten million at least. Democracy, after all, is priceless.
3. You get that nerdy sticker.
Some of us do wear it all day. And proudly.
4. Because despite all their jawing about freedom and democracy, politicians don't really want you to vote.
It might mess up their poll-driven expectations if too many voters show up and vote for things. Who knows what might happen.
5. Because you can.
Do you really need another reason?
