Green Monster Gets a Green Facelift

It turns out the Green Monster is really turning green. Fenway Park in Boston home of the Red Sox for all you non-baseball fans is getting an environmental makeover that includes the installation of a solar hot water system. The solar hot-water system is part of the Solar Boston program, a 2-year initiative to increase the city's solar energy output dramatically by 2015.
The stadium installed 28 solar hot water collectors and four 400-gallon storage tanks that will be tied to Fenway's existing water system. The solar-heated water will supply the park and the restaurants on the lower levels of the stadium.
In the interest of full disclosure I'm a Dodger fan. I have been all my life. I know that a huge remodel of Dodger Stadium is in the planning stages, I can only hope a more environmentally friendly building plan, such as this one in Boston, is on the books.
