The Compton High Tarbabes... Compton College's mascot name is the Tartars, so the mascot name for Compton High School became the Tartar Babies. This was later shortened to the Tarbabes. The mascot is "Baby Tartar", who wears a diaper and carries a big sword.

The tall ship American Pride arrives at Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach after it started taking October 5, 2007. The ship was returning from a five-day trip to Catalina Island with a group of ninth-graders. The American Pride is a 130-foot three-masted schooner operated by the Children's Maritime Foundation. The ship was given assistance by the Coast Guard but was able to dock on its own just after 2:30 p.m..

He covers everything from the Cambodian community to prep sports to gang ridden neighborhoods to the annual running of the Long Beach Grand Prix. He covered destruction Hurricane Katrina brought to Long Beach, Mississippi and traveled to Southeast Asia to document a rural Cambodian girl's as she traveled to the U.S. for life-altering heart surgery.
