This blog is a journal of Southern California, through the lens of Jeff Gritchen. It's updated frequently with pictures, photo tips and musings from the various assignments he covers as a staff photographer for the Press-Telegram and Torrance Daily Breeze.
Gritchen has been documenting the diverse city of Long Beach since 1998. He covered destruction Hurricane Katrina brought to Long Beach, Mississippi and traveled to Southeast Asia to document a rural Cambodian girl's as she traveled to the U.S. for life-altering heart surgery. He has won numerous state and national awards, including an international NPPA Best of Photojournalism award in 2003 and Best News Photo from the Los Angeles Press Club in 2010. Im soo sorry ,I hope everything be okay . Im from Inglewood , Ca. and I seen this on the news and thought it was very terrifying to see a young girl getting shot a killed. I prayed and thank the lord that she lived her 16 years of live to the fullest. I dont even know her , but she seems like a great person. I wish you guys the best.

I cant believe the utter stupidity of the idiot who shot into the crowd of people and killed this young girl. I hope he rotts in prison. Every day while hes in prison someone should look at him in the face and tell him youre a fukkin idiot.
