PHOTOS, VIDEO: Liberty Belle 'Flying Fortress' B-17 over Long Beach

This is the view from the nose of the Liberty Belle over Long Beach, Calif. on March 1, 2010. This Flying Fortress is one of only eight flying B-17's in the world from
World War II. There were a total of 12,732 B-17's produced by Boeing between 1935 and 1945. Of these, 4,735 were lost in combat. The B-17 was in Korea, Vietnam and Israel used them in the war of 1948. Click play above to watch the video or click here to see the pictures >>

He covered destruction Hurricane Katrina brought to Long Beach, Mississippi and traveled to Southeast Asia to document a rural Cambodian girl's as she traveled to the U.S. for life-altering heart surgery. He has won numerous state and national awards, including an international NPPA Best of Photojournalism award in 2003 and Best News Photo from the Los Angeles Press Club in 2010. In 2011, the photo staffs of the Long Beach Press-Telegram and Torrance Daily Breeze merged. Now he covers all of Southern Los Angeles County. He can be contacted at
