Los Altos takes to the field

FOOOTBALLL!

That’s right, local teams take to the gridiron tonight to start the season.

The Los Altos Conquerors take on the No. 2 ranked San Dimas in the Saints’ stadium tonight at 7 p.m.

On paper, San Dimas has a better team returning than last year’s squad, which went 9-2 before finishing in a three-way tie for the Valle Vista League title. They then beat rival Bonita.

Felipe Aguilar is the new Los Altos coach. The former Los Altos quarterback lead the Conquerors to back-to-back CIF-SS titles in 1999-2000. He replaces Greg Gano, who is stepping aside after winning four titles in 11 years.

“We have a lot of respect for San Dimas; we know they’re one of the top teams in the Valley. But we’re Los Altos. We don’t back down from anyone, and we expect to when when we walk out on the field,” Gano says.
