Sixth graders warming up in Hacienda Heights

Teachers and administrators are gearing up for another busy school year in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. After all, schools open Wednesday.

Principal Frank Chang was getting Mesa Robles Middle School in tip-top shape in Hacienda Heights. The new class of sixth-graders came for an orientation on Friday morning.

“The older students run the orientation program themselves,” Chang said. “They’ll show the new students around the school so they can find their classrooms.”

The new students enjoyed many activities such as the pop the balloon relay held out on the playground.
