Render me this, render me that
After going back and forth with the city's contract architectural firm for a rendering of the new Highland sheriff's statiion (prior attempts at getting them e-mailed to me failed), a copy of a CD landed on my desk yesterday with renderings of the new $12 million sheriff's substation (see one of the station's planned facade below).
The station will be built on the southwest corner of Base Line and Olive Tree Lane, next to the existing station, which is housed in an old mortuary.
On Sept. 9, the City Council approved the design plans. Councilwoman Jody Scott voted no, arguing that a planned memorial park at the station honoring servicemen from the city killed in Vietnam should have undergone Council review first.
