Teen girl robbed outside Highland church
A suspected robber threatened a 15-year-old girl with a knife while
demanding her cell phone outside a Highland church Wednesday, sheriff's
officials said.
The girl was standing with other children at the corner of Webster Street and Saguaro Way near Emmanuel Baptist Church about 8 p.m.
A 15 to 16-year-old boy approached the group and asked one of the girls if she had the time. She pulled out a cell phone from her pocket. The boy demanded her phone.
When the girl hesitated, the boy pulled out a 6-inch knife.
The girl feared for her safety, so she handed over the phone. The boy ran from the area, possibly with three other children.
Deputies said the boy is white and has light-brown wavy hair. He wore a turquoise T-shirt and tight-fitting blue jeans.
Anyone with information may call the sheriff's Highland station, (909) 425-9793.
