LA Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin talks about facing Oilers Connor McDavid for first time

The Kings will get their first up-close and personal look at Edmonton Oilers rookie Connor McDavid when they also try for their fifth consecutive victory on Sunday at Rexall Place. McDavid has five goals and eight points in his first eight games in the NHL after the Oilers took him with the first pick in the draft last June.

“Know as much about him as you guys know,” Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin said of playing against McDavid for the first time. “He’s got a lot of hype and rightfully so. He’s a special talent. There’s guys in the league that you have to keep an eye out for, a little extra attention, and he’s going to be one of them.”

“There’s a lot of media attention around him. Especially being in Canada (playing for the Oilers) and being from Canada, he’s got a lot of pressure on him. I think he’s done a good job so far. Us going in there, we’ve got to play him like anyone else. Play him physical. We’ve got to play our game if we want to win.”
