News bulletin: LA Kings special teams are playing especially well

The Kings crack media relations staff pointed out an inescapable fact after a 2-1 victory Thursday over the New York Islanders at Staples Center. The Kings’ special teams are playing especially well. Their power-play clicked for a goal for the fifth consecutive game, the longest streak since Dec. 16-27, 2014. Their penalty-killers have blanked the opposition in 12 consecutive shorthanded situations and 18 of 19 over the last seven games.

“Our power play and penalty kill won the hockey game for us,” Kings coach Darryl Sutter said.
