Ducks return Shea Theodore to AHL team in San Diego, NHL debut will have to wait

The Ducks on Wednesday returned top prospect Shea Theodore to their American Hockey League team in San Diego. Theodore’s much-anticipated NHL debut will have to wait. He has scored one goal and eight points in 13 games this season with the Gulls, and has played 26 games overall in the AHL. The 20-year-old was a first-round draft pick in 2013 (26th overall).

The Ducks recalled Theodore late Monday, but he didn’t play in Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators.
