Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen out sick, John Gibson recalled from AHL

The Ducks sent goaltender Frederik Andersen to the doctor Tuesday morning to get checked out after he came down with flu-like symptoms. They also recalled goalie John Gibson from their AHL team in San Diego to serve as their backup to  Anton Khudobin, who was expected to start Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames.

The corridor outside the dressing rooms was filled with retired goalies, none of whom stepped up to fill in. Present but not volunteering were: former Ducks goalies J.S. Giguere and Guy Hebert, ex-Kings goalie Kelly Hrudey, ex-Winnipeg and San Jose goalie Brian Hayward and former Minnesota and Edmonton netminder Dwayne Roloson, who now serves as the Ducks’ goaltending coach.

Hrudey works on the Calgary TV broadcasts and Hayward fills a similar role with the Ducks.
