Snow day: Ducks game against Capitals postponed because of storm in Washington

The Ducks game Friday against the Washington Capitals was postponed because of a snowstorm on the East Coast, the NHL announced. A makeup date wasn’t set. The Ducks play the Red Wings on Saturday in Detroit and then the Bruins in Boston on Tuesday, their final game before the All-Star break.

The Ducks and Caps have open dates Monday, but the NBA’s Wizards play host to the Boston Celtics that evening at the Verizon Center. An afternoon game could be scheduled, however. The Ducks have two remaining trips to the East this season, but there are no extra days between games in which to add a makeup contest without having the team play on three consecutive days.
