Ducks send Tim Jackman and seventh-round draft pick to Blackhawks for Corey Tropp

The Ducks acquired right wing Corey Tropp from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for right wing Tim Jackman and a seventh-round selection in the 2017 draft. Tropp is expected to be assigned to the Ducks’ American Hockey League team in San Diego. Jackman was playing with the Gulls for most of the season.

(Updated) Ducks recall Max Friberg from San Diego of AHL, send Tim Jackman to Gulls

The Ducks on Tuesday recalled left wing Max Friberg from their AHL team in San Diego and sent right wing Tim Jackman to the Gulls. Jackman cleared waivers earlier in the day after playing only two games to start the season. Friberg scored three goals and five points in seven games this season for the Gulls.

Jackman was in the Gull’s lineup Tuesday against San Antonio.

“He needs to play,” Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said of Jackman. “This is the advantage of having a farm team in San Diego. He can do down and play a game. he played seven minutes in the first game he played (with the Ducks this season) and five in the second. That’s not enough time for a big man to play.

“Everybody likes ‘Jacks.’ He’s going to go down and he’s going to work his rear end off to get back here. … Nobody likes to get demoted. If you did, then you’d be the wrong man for the job here. I know he’s going to work his rear end off to get back here.”
