Hollywood legend Deborah Kerr: 1921-2007

.kerr3.jpgThis is sad news.
Deborah Kerr, the great star of such classics as "The King and I," "An Affair to Remember" and "From Here to Eternity," has died at the age of 86. Kerr, whose last named rhymes with "star," died at her home in England. She had suffered from Parkinson's disease.
The six-time Academy Award nominee and recipient of an Honorary Oscar in 1994, once attributed her success to "a demand for a red-haired, porcelain-skinned heroine and I was just a natural for it."
Her other memorable films included "Edward, My Son," "Heaven Knows Mr. Allison;" "Separate Tables," and "The Sundowners," all which earned her Oscar nods. Her later work included the TV miniseries "A Woman of Substance" in 1984 and "Hold the Dream" in 1986.
Rest in peace, Deborah Kerr.
