It's been such a busy week with all kinds of activity from celebs getting sentenced (Kiefer Sutherland, Michelle Rodriguez) , to leaving rehab (Lindsay Lohan), to driving aimlessly around L.A. with paparazzi in tow (Britney Spears) ) to getting married again and again and again (Pam Anderson) to being coy about an obviious pregnancy (Jennifer Lopez).
This has given those chatty ladies on "The View" plenty to talk about.
If you read my Out In Hollywood blog, you know that I am so entertained by the Hot topics portion of the show where the women just let it fly. Thursday morning, they talked about JLo and Sherri Shepherd said: "Normally she is half-naked on stage and here she is in this big yellow tent." The prim (and pregnant) Elisabeth Hasselbeck said: "I don't think any woman has to say anything...Our role is to say, 'Congratulations,' not to ask, 'Are you pregnant?'" But Barbara Walters - interviewer of thousands of celebrities and politicians - seemed a little incredulous at JLo's silence as she becomes big as a house.
"When you see her in these tent-like things, it's very hard not to say, 'Hey! Are you trying to tell us something?'"
In other news, Patrick Dempsey, better known to McDreamy to the women and gay men who have mad crushes on him, is the cover boy of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. Since this is the photo issue, Dempsey does the whole moidel thing, posing shirtless and doing the smoldering thing in other shots. Should be a best seller...This is kinda sweet: actress Rose McGowen ("Charmed") and director Robert Rodriguez are engaged...and, while we're on the topic of weddings, I can't resist: TOOTIE got married this summer and didn't tell anybody! What would Mrs. Garrett think? OK, back to the real world: actress Kim Fields of "Facts of Life" and "Living Single" fame, married Broadway actor Christopher Morgan this summer - after she gave birth to their son in early May. I wonder if Blair, Jo and Natalie were invited...Whew! At least one celebrity avoided being sentenced to jail this week. Jude Law has been cleared of assault charges against a photographer...
...and finally, the question of the day: Britney Spears: You've just been granted one supervised night a week with yoiur kids. What are you gonna do? Go shopping at Neiman Marcus, of course...
