OK, seventh race ... Nickypalmer with Alex Solis up ... this guy went postward at 8-5 and 7-5 his past two starts and didn't get the job done.
Today, he's 9-2 on the morning line and if you get 5-2 or more on this guy, I'd be in action at the window!!
A small exacta coupling him with 20-1 outsider Transduction Gold is not a bad play. Don't get caught playing Nickypalmer at too short a price, though.
Don't know about you but this Del Mar season has killed me so far. Favorite, after favorite ... $3.80, $4.20, $5.60 win mutuals don't help me at all. I admit, some favorites are worth taking a shot with and while I don't often wager on 30-1 outsiders either, I really miss cashing on my $10.20 and $14. horses. For me it seems that all my horses are breaking slow, racing wide or rearing in the starting gate. Just plain bad luck that I hope will change soon!

Horse players always run into bad luck or stretches where we are cold, but the simple fact is this -- bet proven, winning barns coupled with the elite riders and you'll come out on top. Picking your spots doesn't hurt, either.
