Pacific Classic intrigue

| | Comments (1) |

I know Lava Man is the most accomplished horse in the field, but my gut feeling tells me he's not going to win the Pacific Classic today.

Sometimes, in races like this, you have to go with your gut and I think Magnum is going to run a huge race and perhaps upset Lava Man, who is trying to become the first horse ever to win the Santa Anita Handicap, Hollywood Gold Cup and Pacific Classic all in the same year. Best Pal also accomplished the feat, but not in the same year.
There have been some big upsets in this race, and although Magnum is not going to go off at high odds, I like his chances today.
Thoughts?

The race is tough today, not to mention the ever slowing of the dirt track. My personal favorite is Lava Man, just a great story.

But...

My picks are in order: 4-Giacono / 2-Lava Man / 1-Top This And That / 6-Perfect Drift.

Should be a very competitive race, one to watch for sure.
