Travers a two-horse race?

| | Comments (0) |

While Bernardini looks to be at the head of the class in this year's 3-year-old division, don't discount Bluegrass Cat in today's $1 million Travers Stakes at Saratoga.

Bernardini has looked sharp in taking the Preakness and Jim Dandy in his past two starts, but remember this -- Saratoga is known as the graveyard of favorites and Bernardini is even money on the morning line. Bluegrass Cat, 2-1 on the morning line, is coming off a nice score in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park and will go postward as a strong second choice. Only two favorites have won the past 10 runnings of the Travers.
